Our current foster dogs are listed here. All of our dogs are current on vaccinations and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Dogs adopted through MN Pit Stop are given a clean bill of health & behaviorally assessed before leaving. Once in the hands of the new owners, we do not guarantee the dog’s behavior or health. Behavior is influenced by genetics, environment and experiences, we can not control what happens to the dogs once they leave us, therefore we will not be responsible for changes that may occur with the dogs. We do offer continued guidance, training and behavior consultations for those interested.

Sully-Available for Adoption
Sully appears to be an American Bully, which is a more recent breed that derives from American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshires Terriers and American Bulldogs. Sully is very sweet and loves EVERYONE he meets. He is social with other dogs and is currently living with two other dogs and three cats. He tends to be a focused on the cats when they run, so a home with dog-savvy cats or no cats would be best. I do not leave him unattended with cats at this point.
He is roughly two years old and currently weighs 76 pounds. Sully is neutered and current on vaccinations. He is house-trained, crate trained and rides well in the car. He has basic manners under his belt and would be a great family dog. He would do well with children of any age and is mellow around kids. After a bit of exercisze each day, Sully is then happy to lay around and be a coach potato.

- Weight: 76 pounds of love

Gunther–Adopted! Thank you Kelly and Tyler, enjoy your new boy.
Meet Gunther, we sprang him from Rochester Animal Control where he was brought in as a stray dog. Gunther is proving to be quite the sweetheart! He traveled well crated in the car. He did great during his dog-to-dog introductions with our dogs and so far he seems fine with cats. If they harass him and give chase, he will follow, but is easy to call off them. He’s meet several new people today and has done well, if he’s nervous, he lays down. He’s playing with toys and loves running in the yard with the other dogs. We’ll be working on his basic manners and leash walking skills. If you’re interested in adopting this fantastic boy, please contact us through the contact link! Thanks for looking.

Odie–Adopted! Thank you Summer and Phillip!
Odie is a six month old male, blue and white APBT. In his last home, Odie broke his left hind femur and his previous owner couldn’t afford to “fix” it. Rather than have him euthanized, we were contacted to see if we could help him. By that time, Odie’s leg wasn’t savable, so we had it amputated on Nov 22. He is doing amazingly well and will be available to go into a new home soon!
Odie is doing very well with his training. We started him on clicker training and he’s loving it. Potty training has been going very well too. Odie is crate trained, rides great in the car, loves everyone, gets along great with other dogs and cats and is a complete mush who loves to snuggle and be with his people.

Nana Blue–Adopted! Thank you Dayna!
This little lady arrived to us after being surrendered to a local shelter. She’s had a dubious past, but she is forgiving girl and a true love. Nana loves being with her people and she is great with other dogs and cats. Recently she attended an educational event with a dozen kids under the age of 10. She was fantastic with them and seemed to soak up all their pets and attention. Nana is due to be spayed soon. She has been updated on her vaccinations and deworming. She does have an ear infection at the moment that we’re treating her for, but she handles the treatments great. She is by far one of the sweetest and easiest fosters we’ve had the privilege to have in our lives.

Lacy–Adopted! Thank you Jeanne, Phil, Kyle and McKayla!
Lacy is a lovely, little American Pit Bull Terrier. She is a bit shy and reserved when you first meet her, but her eyes will melt your heart. Lacy enjoys playing fetch and zooming around outside and with other dogs, but also loves snuggling on your lap and giving kisses. She will need an owner that will build her confidence and bring her out of her shell. We don’t doubt Lacy will be an exceptional dog (she already is), she just needs someone to give her the right direction through positive reinforcement training and enrichment. Lacy is dog social and cat friendly. She is currently living with two other dogs and three cats. She is crate trained, house trained and rides well in the car. Lacy currently weighs 46 pounds and will remain a smaller sized pit bull. We have rated Lacy as a PG-17 dog. During the ASPCA’s MYM assessment, Lacy scored as an Orange dog with a Wallflower canine-ality. To find out more about this, Click here.

He has been around children as well and seems comfortable with them. We’re rating him as a PG-13 depending upon the family and home. Harvey enjoys car rides and is food motivated. Honey–Adopted! Thank you Justin and Amber
Honey is a young girl that came out of a neglectful situation. Despite the rough start in life, she is happy, happy, happy! Honey is fairly small, currently only weighs 32 lbs. This could be due to a variety of reasons…runt of a litter, mal-nurishment, bred before one year of age? She adores being with people & kids, is dog social and friendly with cats! This girl probably won’t need much dental care, since she loves to chew on bones and tough chew toys thus keeping her teeth clean in the process! She loves playing fetch with tennis balls and is learning the “drop it” cue. She didn’t come with any foundation training, but we’re taking care of that! She is very food motivated, although a bit picky about her treats, so training her is fun. She crates well and is house trained. Her only vice is that she gets very nervous while riding in the car. We are working on counter-conditioning and desensitizing her to car rides, but behavior modification always takes time. For now, if we have to travel anywhere, she gets crated in a hard-plastic crate and it gets covered to cut down on the stimuli. This seems to help her! Crate included in adoption.
Overall we couldn’t be more pleased with this dog! She has a fantastic recall and we are already doing off-leash training with her! She really is living up to her name, Honey!
Stats:
- Female
- Color: Red, Red nose
- Current Age: 12-18 months
- Weight: 32 lbs.
- Vaccinated, spayed and micro-chipped on July 20th, 2010
- Sociability- dog social, kid and cat friendly too!
LuLu–Adopted!
Our newest addition is LuLu. She arrived August 15th after being abandoned by her previous people.
LuLu appears to be an American Pit Bull Terrier with possibly a touch of Boxer. She will most likely be a medium sized dog when full grown, weighing between 45-60 lbs. She is doing very well in her training, currently she understands: sit, down, come, kennel up, leave it, off, drop it, shake, target, go potty, and go poop.
Lulu is quite a little ham, she loves to carry toys around in her mouth and playfully growl at you while doing so. She also loves using her front legs to box at you and other dogs, which lead us to believe maybe she had some Boxer in her. LuLu has a good re-call, but she’s still a puppy so she can get distracted easily. She will need to be placed in an active home with people who will continue her training. She’s a people pleaser though and is very food motivated!
She will continue to be in ambassador training until she goes to her new home, learning basic manners and potty training. Currently living with our two dogs, two cats, and parrot.
Stats:
- Female
- Color: Fawn and white with black mask
- Current Age: 4.5 months
- Weight: 30 lbs
- Vaccinated on 08/15/09 & 09/15/09 (booster shots). Spayed on 8/26/09
- Sociability with other dogs: social to tolerant
Sherlock–Adopted!
Meet Sherlock, a male Blue-fawn American Pit Bull Terrier available for adoption.
Sherlock has all the fixings to be a Canine Good Citizen when he comes of age to take the test. He is also on his way to becoming a great breed ambassador! He was rescued out of a bad situation in the Twin Cities by a good Samaritan who unfortunately could not keep him. That’s when we stepped in and took this adorable little guy into our home.
Sherlock is a very intelligent puppy and is cute as a button! He is crate trained and doing great with potty training. He is currently living with our other two dogs, cats and a parrot.
We adore Sherlock’s great personality and goofy antics. He’s sure to make everyone in the room coo and laugh at the same time!
